My Communications Disorder classroom is designed to service students with communication disorders in grades three through five who need more support than other cross-categorical special education classrooms can offer.  We use instructional strategies proven through research to be beneficial for students with Autism,including discrete trial training and pivotal response training, computer aided instruction, visual supports, and sensory strategies.

                      The Autism Awareness Ribbon — The puzzle pattern  

                      reflects the mystery and complexity of the autism

                      spectrum. The different colors and shapes represent the

                      diversity of the people and families living with the

                      condition. The brightness of the ribbon signals hope —

                      hope that through increased awareness of autism, and

                      through early intervention and appropriate treatments,

                      people with autism will lead fuller, more complete lives.
